Cain & Skarnulis PLLC was proud to be an industry exclusive sponsor of the Austin Business Journal’s Best CEO awards, held October 4, 2018, at the newly-renovated LINE ATX hotel. From nearly 70 nominees, ABJ’s team of judges honored five chief executives across a variety of industries.
The Legacy Award winner was entrepreneur and philanthropist, John Paul Dejoria, the creator of Paul Mitchell haircare and Patron Tequila. Dejoria is well-known in Austin for his support of Mobile Loaves and Fishes, and Community First Village. Fittingly, his award was presented by Dejoria’s friend and partner in charity, Mobile Loaves’ CEO Alan Graham.
C&S partner Steve Skarnulis presented the Large Company Best CEO award to Greg Gilmore of Planview, Inc. Autumn Manning of YouEarnedIt Inc. took the award for Medium Company and John Antonelli of Antonelli’s Cheese Shop was the Small Company winner. Finally, the Nonprofit award went to David Smith of United Way for Greater Austin.
Several C&S law partners attended the event: Clint Rosenthal (litigation and transaction), Blair Dancy (insurance), and Mike Springer (commercial real estate). As a business law firm, C&S looks forward to sponsoring this celebration of Austin’s business leaders for years to come.
