Senior Associate Ashley N. Morgan Co-Presents at State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting in Dallas
Cain & Skarnulis Senior Associate Ashley N. Morgan and Candice B. Deyerle of Deyerle, Silva, Smith PLLC co-presented “Divorces Involving Pets” on June 21, 2024, at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting in Dallas.
The presentation covered: (1) the characterization of pets as community or separate property under Texas law; (2) protecting pets and parties via protective orders, temporary restraining orders, and temporary orders; (3) advocacy tips for handling disputes over the award of community property pets; and (4) how to prevent conflict with pre- and post-marital agreements.
Ashley serves as Chair of the Animal Law Sections of the Austin Bar Association and State Bar of Texas.
